i didn't get much done today, but here is what i did:

fixed a couple broken studs:

undercoated the areas behind the front fenders:

cut out the old and welded in the corner piece that hold the switch to run the early engine bay lights:

seam sealed the wiper cowl area:

drilled the holes and mounted the bracket for the earlier style hood prop using the pattern i made when i removed it from the other car:

i guess tomorrow i'm going to work on getting the doors ready to be put on... i'm going to strip them, put a little filler in to smooth out the latch areas that i welded in and whatever other bodywork they need, if any... This is a task i'm not looking forward to, especially the part where i put them on and try to get them aligned....

Steve,

Those halo lights are super sexy. When I get my 82FI running and get bored, I will have to steal your style. 8)

another sort of slow day... i got the passenger door completely stripped and patch the one small rust spot on the lower edge towards the front... i got the outer door skin down to metal. i'll have to finish it tomorrow... before i started the doors, i started working on the front valance. i'm frenching in the front license plate... i'm out of flap discs so grinding welds is one hold til i pick some up...

here's a pic of the front valance:

thanks jim.... the plate will actually be angled slightly to the ground... maybe 10 or 15 degrees. i thought it would be set in too far if i made it straight up and down.... i think it will still look better than the plate dangling on a bracket... i really wish the front plate wasn't mandatory here in ohio

Man, it just looks better and better, Steve. What's really impressive is how much you get done in a day!

Oh...got those little captive nuts installed on the shift plate today. Worked beautifully. Thanks again!
