reverse lights

Post by mtihc »

Hi all…the taillights and license plate lights on my '77 Spider 124 work fine, but I've never been able to get the reverse lights to work. I've replaced the bulbs, but still nothing. Any idea what I should check next?

check the reverse light switch. It is in the back of the tranny. Its probably a ground switch, so you should have a constant 12v at the light.

I agree check the back-up light switch on the transmission. However I think the switch switches power, not ground. I don't have 77 wire diagram to check but on my 81 and 73 diagrams power is switched so I am assuming a 77 would be similar.

Yes, the switch switches power, not ground.
