New Owner - And So It Begins

Hi All,
Today I took delivery of my first 124 Spider.
Many years ago I test drove quite a few trying to find the right one, and in the end I gave up.
This one was owned by a friend I used to work with who has owned it for the last 22 years, so quite an emotional event for both he and his wife to part ways.
But as you can see from the images they did not have anywhere to park the car under cover and it has rested in the location in the photos for the last 18 months or so.
It was taken back to bare metal quite a few years ago, and tidied up again more recently.
It is now tucked away in my garage waiting for my wife to discover it, LOL!!!
I took a Lancia Montecarlo back to bare metal quite a few years ago and I am hesitant to go this far again, so hopefully this will be an easier journey to get the car going again and looking a bit better than it does already.
I have included a couple of shots of the car before it was moved (I know how much everyone likes a picture), and I have included one of my Monte (which I still own) as most Italian car lovers admire most if not all marques; I know I do.
One very basic question?
I jacked up the front offside and placed it on an axle stand but had to put the stand a fair way in towards the centre to clear the jack.
I am afraid if I do the same on the other side it will lean the car on the current stand too much.
Is there a safe jacking point at the front centre of the car from which I can lift the whole thing to get two stands in?

Love the Monte Carlo!

I've recently had my Spider on stands. I used a trolley jack under the front cross member (just behind the sump or oil pan). I needed to use a small block of wood approximately 3/4 inch thick to help it stay clear of the engine.

For the rear, under the diff pumpkin.

Those side markers are interesting? Turn signals in there too?

I dismantled one rear brake assembly to check out the condition of the discs and pads.
The discs looked to be pretty good (with a catch), but the pads were well worn.
The discs didn't even look close to 10.8mm thick, yet the wear suggested they are reasonably new.
There was also a spacer about 5mm thick to the rear of the wheel.
Is this standard, or has someone made up for the thinner disc?
In looking at what is out there in the way of discs and pads, if I stay original the disc seems to be 227mm diam x 10.8mm thick, but I seem to be finding different pad thickness information of 12mm or 17mm.
Can someone tell me what the standard is?
I must get a workshop manual!

Well now I have taken the second rear assembly off you can see the before and after appearance of the calipers.
I have ordered new seals, discs, pads, hoses etc, so when it is all back on the car it should look as good as new.
Initially I just wanted to get the brakes sorted, put a new timing belt on, and start driving, but it is a bit hard to know where to stop!
Last time that happened it was the full bare metal respray, with every nut, bolt and wiring loom coming out.
Not sure I want to put myself through that again?

Those are 1970-only US-model sidemarkers. No, they are not turn signals, but they can be wired to be one, like all sidemarkers.

Those are standard.

Likely the rear pad thickness is 12mm. They are quite thin even new.
