New from Texas starting was just given 4 spiders

Hello all

My father in a law just gave me 4 Fiat spiders he has had in storage for 15 years. My friend and I have been talking about dropping a V8 in a small car like a miata. Well I guess this has been left to fate and we are going start with a fiat! We all ready have a small block LS motor, 4 speed tranny and a bunch of parts not to mention 4 fiats. This is going to be a big project I'll post pics later.

Most that I have seen required a lot of work, entire drive train, brakes, suspension, and extensive cutting. And let's not forget the amount of $ that it will take. It's not simply dropping a V8 in and drive. They will go great in a straight line, corners not so much. For what it will cost, you could make an extremely nice original. One that will produce 120 - 130 HP and put a smile on your face.

Even when I was very young, I have been attracted to the sound of a Italian engine. I could hear a Fiat or Alfa from a mile away. My best thrill is passing on the curves, and who needs brakes? I wish someone would entrust me to 4 Spiders for free.

Where in Texas are you? There are classic Fiat groups in most major cities.

Ok this is Brad, Don't miss out ? What, I'll miss the hours of discussing how the hell your going to make that work. The LS motors are great motors but wide, thats a tough fit. from what I remember Theres very little room for the headers if any. Thats why I used the Ford 302. Some of the LS motor don't use a distributor otherwise its in the windshield. I'd suggest getting a plastic mock up block and see what you got to work with. they can be found used or new. I would also look at mustang front clip. that would take care of many of the problems steering suspension. Its a lot of work, it took me two yeas plus. Sincerely good luck. It will be a big job.
