Just changes my starter need advice

Post by barnesjtsl »

79 Spider 2000

Changed my starter. On the old one there is a support on the rear of the starter that connects to the starter and a bracket connected to the motor mount.

With the new starter there is no way to connect it to the bracket that was on the old one. Will it hurt anything to leave this bracket off. I have the front 3 bolts tightened real tight.

Also. I has anyone out there been able to remove one of these starters without a 24" extension and a swivel sprocket connector? That is while the engine is in the car. Just curious.

What starter are you installing?
The light weight starter does not need the bracket, at least I never used it
Some one will tell you more
