Ciao from Italy
Ciao from Italy
Hallo everybody!
Sorry for my english...
I'm Zeno from Verona, Italy.
Two years ago I drove my friend Pininfarina Spidereuropa Volumex in a meeting, great car!
I love this car so In december 2013 I bought in Germany my Pininfarina Spidereuropa Volumex, one of the last built, metallic red with tan interior.
The Volumex was stopped a few years ago, so I decided to start a restore project.
Rebuilt engine, new interior trim, lot's of works but I hope the volumex will be soon on the road again!
I found this forum looking for some information, a great enthusiast's community!
Thanks a lot,
Ciao from Zeno

Sorry for the delay...
Thanks a lot for your welcome!
This was my spider when i bought in Germany.
The head has been removed from last owner because the engine was jammed. I preferred to pick up the car and rebuilt the engine here in italy.

Hi Zeno,
What number production is yours?
Mine is #390 of 500. Do you have the side fender flares as well or prefer to leave them off?

Mine is 446. I was looking for a 2nd series with the rack & pinion steering box.
Original fenders are missing but I have a complete set, I will fit them for the last

Re: Ciao from Italy
Wow, that is one of the last.
Mine also has rack and pinion steering and it is very nice. You'll have a much easier time finding parts in Europe than I do over here in Canada. Nobody has even heard of a Volumex over here.
Good luck with it and keep posting pics. I'd love to see more as you get into it. I have a few valuable contacts if you need any.
Just a word of warning if you aren't already aware. Be very careful if you decide to take the supply hoses off of the oil cooler. After many years the steel fittings weld themselves to the aluminum cooler and you will destroy the cooler if you're not careful. And those coolers are extremely difficult to find.
Cheers,
Jim

Re: Ciao from Italy
Hi, I lived with my wife in Sardinia for 13 years after military retirement. There I had a 1978 Mazda RX 7 and when I tried to register it, the inspector could not understand a Wankel engine. .
