New from Oakland

Post by guzziman »

Hi All, Just recently joined this forum. I recently purchased my first ever fiat spider, a 1981 pininfarina little copper jewel (only 50k original miles according to the car fax). Have been loving this car and have had a fair bit of maintenance work done on it such as new distributor wires, new hoses, new valve cover gaskets etc. But, it seems it still has problems running when cold and even when warm has a few soft spots. Unfortunately, my mechanic has had to move away and so, I'm looking for someone local that can help me out. I'm actually quite mechanically inclined but simply don't have much time to do my own wrenching anymore. So, really could use some help. Also, I'd very much like to hook up with other local fiat lovers for Sunday outings. So, if anybody can put me in touch with local mechanical help and/or other fellow fiat owners, I would be much appreciative. Oh, also, just wanted to say that one of the main motivations for buying the fiat was that my wife and I have a medium sized dog and none of the modern sports cars, it seems, have a jump seat for the dog. So, fiat it was. As it happens, I've been into classic British and Italian motorcycles for 30 years. So, getting into a classic little Italian sports car was a no-brainer ;) Thanks much for the help.

https should be fine.

I'm probably not too far from you but I still have a couple of weeks to go before I get the car on the road.

It's easy, just showing off.

Opened up your dropbox location, right click to download it to my PC in Windows Live Photo Gallery. Quickly cropped it to get the background out and saved it to my desktop. Opened up Photobucket and uploaded the new picture, resized it to fit on the forum, about 700 wide, copied the "img" link and posted it here. Voila!

It is easier to construct a small scale nuclear device than to post pics around here.

Ah, OK. Seems like the answer is PhotoBucket. I'll have to get an account. Thanks.
