Hello to all
Andy in New York
Have a 1972 850 Sport Spider in Tropical Turquoise
Bought from original owner
Wish I new how to put up a picture
I love the car
In 1978 I bought a yellow one from the Fiat of Greenwich, Ct Dealer and had it for many enjoyable miles.
Don't really need anything, just some advice.
Would like to put in early low back seats?
Can I cut mine down, or does anyone have a spare set?
Also, would like to retrofit some flush headlights?
Has anyone ever tried to adapt a modern light that would fit?
Lastly, I need the small center pieces that go in the Bertone crests on each fender.
I have the chrome surrounds but center is missing.
Ones I got have whole crest and mount and require two holes on fender.
I do not have holes now, must be glued on
I have enjoyed reading all snout your adventures
By the way, I also have a 1976 Scorpion... YEA

Welcome! BEAUTIFUL little 850. I love that color! Makes me want one too.
Re: New Member from New York
Tropical torquise is the original color, and original owner had it reprinted very professionally many years ago.
Was just telling a friend, I also have the original Ski rack in ace condition.
Love to get low back seats? Any ideas?

Re: New Member from New York
Well I drove the Fiat 850 Sport Spider for 40 miles last weekend. After having owned it for a couple of years, my question is why did I wait so long. It is a blast to drive and had them all looking as I carved up the by ways.
It has a very smooth drive and the view down the long sloped hood is rather impressive. The color is what created the controversy. Although hardly anybody knew what it was, they all admired its unique color. Some thought it new? Silly Rabbit. Others thought it Electric, I just thought it was fantastic. I have always admired Italian cars, micros the most, and this fits the bill perfectly. With many choices this is a solid contender. These little beasts are so under rated, hope the masses don't get wind. With stock exhaust and an Abarth header the sound is music to your ears. The motor is lost in the aural experience, with top down and and exercising of the forward gears, all is well in the world. Now I remember my first 850, fly Yellow, almost new, 65 cent gas and any excuse was a cause for celebration and a reason to hit the highway. Although I drive a Lotus everyday, this little 850 has a place in my heart, and reminds me what drove me to get involved with cars at that early age.
As Father's Day approaches, lets all thank our fathers, who blazed the trails and roughed it so we could see the light. Thanks Dad, would not have gotten it without you, I Love You.
