So this is not a 124 - it is my X/19, but I am hoping that someone on here may have an answer as I am in the middle of today's project.
So I am installing some fog lights on the X, and have a question.
I am pretty sure that when I moved the headlight switch to the "parking lights" only position, the parking lights and dash cluster lights came on, but the headlight pods stayed down, and the headlights didn't light. Today, when I move the headlight switch to the "parking lights" only (half way) position, the parking lights come on AND the headlight pods come up, but the headlights are not on, until I move the switch full on position.
I am almost positive this wasn't the case yesterday. Am I right that if the headlight switch is in the parking lights only position the headlight pods should NOT come up?
I'm in the middle of it all now so if anyone knows and can answer soon that would be great!

Re: Headlight Help - X/19
Odd as it may seem the headlight pods normally go up with the parking light position, when the key is on. When the key is off the pods don't move. So, you can put the pods up with the key and parking lights, turn off the key and the the lights and the pods will stay up, for cleaning etc. At least that's how I remember it on my '87 Corsa.

Re: Headlight Help - X/19
On my 74 and 79 X1/9s, I am almost 100% sure (it has been a few years) that parking lights came on without the pods rising.
