Hi everyone! My name is Mike and I bought a '79 Spider at the end of March and have been using it to commute 180 miles a day to go to school. I just rebuilt the carb and learned that it already had been converted to the 1800 manifold and a 32ADFA. After the rebuild I was elated to feel the difference in power and throttle response! I took her to a mechanic, who tweaked the distributor and readjusted the carb so could have a better chance of passing the sniff test. After two days of my lengthy commute it will not stay running. Going to try resetting the timing and adjusting the carb back to how I had it before he tweaked everything. This forum has been a super great help as I've become acquainted with this awesome car and I look forward to joining in now that I am a member. Cheers!
