Hi everyone - hopefully this is an easy one . . .
After pulling back a sleeve covering the wire running to the rear temperature sending unit (red connector, nestled between the spark plugs at the rear of the engine bay) I noticed some bad fraying, etc. It looks like someone had tried to hide it at some point. Does anyone know the correct gauge of this wire? I'd like to cut off the damaged piece and solder a new connection.

I was just working on this last night. I believe it's 16 g but I have slept since then.

Re: Temperature Sending Unit Wire
FYI, my 78 temp gauge kept showing hot when the engine wasn't. I know because I used a heat indicating gun on it. Come to find out after reading several post on this subject, that the previous owner or someone had put the wrong wire on the wrong sensor. Can not remember how far back the post was but it really helped me solve the problem.

Temperature Sending Unit Wire
The wire has been successfully patched and everything cleaned up. In my head I've managed to increase the HP . . .
