Another new member.
I just bought my 3rd Spider 6 weeks ago. I owned my other 2 nearly 30 years ago and remembered how much fun I had with them back then. Not much has changed today! Fun, fun car to drive.
It's a 1981 Pininfarina. It has 40,800 original miles. Bought from the second owner, who bought it from his Aunt 15 years ago and drove only 5,000 miles in that time. Always been kept in a dry garage, but still needed the things you'd expect a car that has sat all that time to need.
I've put new brake lines on it and replaced all the cooling system gaskets and hoses. The new radiator goes in tomorrow. I also replaced the valve cover gaskets and the cracked front end rubbers pieces. All the door/window rubbers are perfect.
It came with AudioVox 8 track and Spark-O-Matic speakers. Gone! Replaced with a nice Kenwood tuner, CD player with iPod/iPhone hook-ups.
So not much to do but enjoy. Until, of course, the Spider Gremlins attach!
Take care,
Dave

Re: Hi ...
Thanks Zippy.
I'm in Vancouver, Washington.
Most postings I've looked at, on this forum, are from owners in the east. Is there any 'western group'
that you know of?

Welcome. I am in Corvallis. A few of us in the Portland/Willamette Valley region have been talking about an informal gathering at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in McMinnville sometime in the next few weeks or so. Watch the events section of this Forum for updates.
