Hi every one, did own a 1974 spider when I was a teenager about 35 years ago and really loved the car...So guess what here I am back in the Fiat familly, just bought a 1981 red and tan and did about 600 km of pure pleasure yesterday to bring it back home.
The car is pretty straight and solid, the drive was impeccable, very happy to be back.
Seems to be a lot of knowleage and great people on this forum.

Welcome to the forum compatriot. Not many active users on here from Quebec. When you say Quebec do you specifically mean Quebec city? Looking forward for pictures, we all enjoy pictures. Rroller123 will advise you how to do that and he'll also send you the link to place youself on that secluded Quebec section of the Fiat map

Re: new member from Québec, Canada
From where did you span 600 km on your ride home?
Re: new member from Québec, Canada
Hi guys,
I'm from the Gatineau area near ottawa, picked up the car in Quebec city drove all along the Saint Laurence river on route 132 till Nicolet ( wich is beautiful btw ) then went North to Mont-Tremblant and then from there to Montebello and finally to Val-Des- Monts wich is North of Gatineau-Ottawa.
On the way we did top down great sunshine, top down whit rain, top up whit thunderstorm and at night for the last hour whit heavy rain, so we really got to try it in almost every possible conditions, all this whit not even a drop of oil missing and the car drives like a charm it's solid like a rock...( could you tell I'm under the charm...lol.)
I almost forgot my wife totallly fell in love whit the car' how lucky could you get ???
Will post some pics in the next few days and thanks for the warm welcome...
Cheers

What a great route although you lost me about the path from Nicolet to Mont Tremblant, (you can't cross the St Lawrence from there) but in any case i get the point, it's all secondary routes and no highways, exactly what these cars are made for. Such a roadtrip with all kinds of weather conditions makes a 35 yr old Spider redeem itself. I gained all my trust in my Spider after a 1100 km round trip in a span of 3 days from Montreal to Boston area and back without a hiccup nor a change in the dipstick reading. Makes you want to give it a pat on the hood
