Hey all, just got a '78 Fiat Spider this weekend and ready to dig into the depths of the forum. I am a total noob to this, I am familiar with 70s era mopeds and so I have the most basic understanding of motors and electronics pertaining to vehicles. This seemed like a great next step in my adventures in wrenching, but really... I just fell in love with the car when I saw it and had to have it, helped that the wife did too. Was looking at Spits and MGs but this just felt more substantial and overall more of a true car than a gocart/car deal. Still a lot of love for those cars too though, my grandpa had an MG before he died, I was about 12 so the car seemed pretty roomy to me at the time, not so much now.
Glad to be here and I am sure I need to thank you in advance because I will have some questions right off the bat.

Welcome aboard! As a fellow noob to wrenching I can tell you that this is a good car to learn on (because it's easy and because you will need to do some work!).

Welcome to the wacky world of Fiat's. I know of some Fiat owners here in central In and Ohio. Give me a PM is you need , I can always help. Maybe we will meet someday on the road. We will sponsor a fall drive down at Brown County soon, details to be announced. Happy trails! http://www.meetup.com/Central-Indiana-I ... at-Lancia/

Thanks for the warm welcome! Rroller here is a pic of the new addition, just to test out the pic instructions. Don't mind the guy in the driver's seat...
racydave - had no idea there was a club in place, I have to try and have my car up to snuff enough to make that Brown County meet!
