Hello all just want to share a bit of experience. I had problems with my power window operation. Darn things are not consistent in their operation. I considered pulling the panels to lube and check the motors. Mainly my prob was with the driver side window. I removed the dash console switches and discovered that if I swamped the connectors I could get both to work, ahh the switch was the culprit. So I went to vendors and priced from 45-65 bucks plus shipping, tax, darn. After using a m-meter I couldn't find any issues, continuity up and down. But still wont operate windows correctly. I noticed that there were two brass pins. I dremmeled the swaged end and pulled out the pins. Basically I disassembled but being switches I was cautious as there may be springs in there, yup there were. I removed and noticed the contacts were oxidized, sanded them a bit, reassembled and walla! Up, down, great saved some money for other necessities. Should of taken pictures, I should invest in a head cam.
Now I have to dissect the instrument light rheostat! Any body done this before? 3 lug model.
Cheers!

I have the same issue with my '84. I'll try your fix to see if it resolves my problems. Thanks!

This is a great contribution. Thanks.
A head cam is such a good idea for this sort of thing...I needed and excuse, since skiing was quite enough (hard to capture much). Meanwhile, I should make room on my iPhone.
So, I had a power window problem, too. I have an 81. Switch and motor were fine. I explain more on my restore topic post, but the cable was slipping where it attaches to the window. Just had to adjust and tighten the screw. Yay for now.
Cheers!
