Would someone post a picture or two showing the windshield washer bottle system that is used on the late model Spiders and sits under the cowl? For a number of reasons, I want to convert to this approach, but have never seen it. I assume that I can get the bottle here on the forum or from one of our vendors and it should be a fairly simple conversion.
Thanks!
Pete

Re: Under Cowl Washer Bottle
Pete:
Mine was missing so I had to buy one from salvage. Sits in the front left:
It has a bracket that attaches to the top of the crossmember which runs in front of the radiator. That crossmember has a small square cutout. I used a plastic insert and a sheet metal screw to secure the bottle bracket to the crossmember. I don't know what the original set up is. If you look carefully, you can see the cutout just below the bracket in the picture above.
I also took these 2 pics of an installed bottle. I think this bottle is different than the one I bought. Mine does not attach at the radiator but does attach to the side of the charcoal canister:
As it turns out, mine leaks I haven't removed it to see where. The pump works!

Re: Under Cowl Washer Bottle
Thanks but this is the system that I currently have and now can't use, due to mods, etc. The later (I think 82 and on) used a system where the bottle was under the windshield cowling, and that is what I need a pic of. But thanks anyway, for going through the effort! I am tempted to put the existing bottle in the trunk and run a line up front.

Re: Under Cowl Washer Bottle
This is the system that I am looking at. It has this bottle mounted somehow under the front windshield cowl I believe. Can anyone describe in detail or show a pic of how it is installed? Thanks!

Re: Under Cowl Washer Bottle
They fit exactly one way, under the cowling. Hard to describe otherwise, the thing is molded to fit the cowling. I have no idea if pininfarina changed the cowling to fit the bottle, it is unlikely they did. Once you figure out the position you'll need to cut a hole for the cap.RRoller123 wrote:This is the system that I am looking at. Better option: get the rubber bag type with a new pump. They work very well and are easy to relocate to other places in the engine bay or wherever.

Re: Under Cowl Washer Bottle
Under cowl bottle received this past week and will be installed. Got a great one from John at spiderparts. Thanks, John! I will post some pics when I get it done, hopefully before Tutto next Sunday.
