This is my first time posting (I have been able to find answers to everything else on the forum) so hopefully the pictures work. I had to read the post about doing it. So I have an 85.5 that has a relay in the trunk. It does not power anything but I'm trying to guess what it may have powered once upon a time. Does anyone have an idea?
The blue/red wire connected to the relay I believe is the power antenna lead (Artigue 80-82 wiring diagram) The black wire from the relay with the 'old school' fuse? has paint overspray that matches the original color (rosso met) it is about 5' long and would reach the battery easily. The grey/red and the white/black are a mystery also, maybe color change for other lead on antenna motor. Luckily none have power as I don't believe an open relay in the trunk with the gas tank is smart. Would have potentially been exciting though

Re: Relay in the trunk??
Looks like some kind of delay relay a previous owner has fitted.

Toplessexpat,
Not sure how you know a 4 second delay but I think you are saying it was for power antenna motor?

Re: Relay in the trunk??
I cheated and looked up the Bosch part number....
Yep - it's for the power antenna (as per Csaba), and I'm pretty comfortable It's a 4 second delay!
