matt & Marco,
that cooling fan has no magical reason to be in one specific place. it is merely held to the radiator by three welded on studs to three stamped steel "ears"
if you have a heart for modifications, those ears could be moved or different mounting brackets could easily be made to move that fan slightly this way or that, in an attempt to avoid conflicts with that sensor.
Water temperature
Re: Water temperature
the sensor clears the fan, all fi cars came that way. There is a bracket to hold the wire harness out of the way. The bracket attaches to the timing cover nut on the left side
Miracle...
... I love that car (to say... smoothly... because today is... Friday the 13th)...
Now... I removed the small piece of round gum that is in the radiator cap (the piece that is related to the water that come in the radiator from the supplementary ones)... I travel two days with the temperature almost at the red... but... suddenly... all went ok... in the sense that, now, the temperature is constantly below 190F... also if I stay with the first gear... in a place with a lot of cars... sometime it arrives to 190 but... I think... the fan switch on and... all is ok.
I guess that... by eliminating that piece the cap is like... opened to take out the air in the secondary radiator... (sorry because I don't know the english techinical names...).
Now... a question... do you think that I have to replace the cap by putting a new one or... leave the things like now they are... because all works? And, furthermore, the cap that I have to buy is the small one or the long one (I discovered that there are two kind of caps))
Now an observation... in my T-Connection it is missing the screw that can be used to fill or to let that the air come out... this means, I thnk, that it is not useful to detach it in order to put it upside down... I don't know why it is inverted... I can suppose that it is not an original piece.
For the meantime, thanks to all of you
Marco
