New member from New Hampshire

Hi all. I joined about two months ago but neglected to introduce myself. I bought a brand new 124 Spider in the summer of 1972 while stationed at Mildenhall England. I put 36,000 miles on it in a year and drove it all over Europe. After a four years it rusted away, and was rear ended and ended up in my father's back yard. Eventually, while he was building a barn and I was away, he buried it!

I've longed to have another one all these years but have been too busy working to be serious about it. Until last July.

I bought a 71 that has a great, nearly rust free body but in need of drivetrain reconditioning. I've started tearing down the engine and hope my skills improve enough to get it put back together and running again.

Already this site and you folks have helped me a immensely.

Welcome! New Hampshire,what a great place! I rode through on a motorcycle over the weekend, and again every June for bike week in Laconia. It's a no-helmet law state. Everyone has the love of bikes there, bikers and not. If we got caught riding with no helmet where i come from we'd get thrown in the clink Stayed in Rochester, not far from you. Hurry up and get your Spider going and head up to Rte 112 (Kancamagus hwy) through the White Mountains. That ride is AWESOME!

I lived in Jackson when I was young and used to rip up those roads with my Dad. What a great area for fun driving!

You know it - the Kanga rocks, especially after the leaves (and the leaf peepers) are gone and before the snow!
