New member from Montreal, Canada

Hi Everyone,

I am a Canadian born Italian in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
For as long as I can remember, the fiat spider has always been a car I loved, and wanted to own.
Now that I have more time on my hands, I definitely want to purchase a 124 or an 850 spider to restore.
I'm not a mechanic nor do I know a lot about cars and restoration, but am willing to learn... and have been.

Here in Canada there aren't many spiders for sale. And those that are selling, are ridiculously high priced.
I came across one in Montreal... which he's asking 2400, I went to see it and the thing needs a complete overhaul. So I sent him a message offering him 750... the car needs some serious work. Anyhow, for those on this site who are selling their 124 or 850... let me know - I would be more than happy to consider.

p.s. even if your in the US
Cheers
Fabrizio

Hey Fab! You don't happen to be the Fab with a parts car that i spoke to on the phone this morning? If so, it's a small world, welcome to the forum. You are correct, hard to find reasonably priced Spiders around here. I dont think you would be too well off with that $2400 car even if you got it for $750. There's not alot of parts cars in Quebec and much of your investment will drown on shipping too many parts. You are better off spending a little more for a more solid car and work from there. For most people here restoration is not a cost effective solution and they don't do it as a profitable undertaking, they do it for the love of an awesome car and the overwhelming satisfaction after the fact.
The best opportunity as we speak is in the cars for sale section in the SF Bay area, too far away from us. That car is awesome for the price, unfortunately it will be gone quicker than it would take us to get there.
Keep your eyes open, fall is coming and thats the time of year anything reasonable will appear. Good luck.

What the hell is going on with this car??? The guy jumps his price from $3,500 negotiable to $5,995 in a span of two days? Spiders gain value quickly
