turn signal indicator/windshield wiper motor/heater fan

Post by RAD »

I've had my 76 spider a month now and have a couple questions or 3. the turn signal indicator is always on, blinks when you use the turn signal lever and turn signals do work, is always on normal? windshield wiper motor has three speeds on off and intermediate, on is too slow for anything more than a shower at city speeds. should it go faster? lastly I have no fan switch for interior heating is there a fan?

I don't think on a 76 it is normal for the TS indicator to be always on.

The WW gearing and levers and such need to be lubed and will loosen up with some work. You can pull the cowling in front of the windshield to get at all this. Do a search here and there are multiple threads with pics.

I think there should be a fan switch. Anyone with a 76 answer this?

ground, ground. ground. Your slow wiper issue can be improved with clean grounds, although i've never seen spider wipers move fast by current standards. your turn signal issue is grounds as well. The heater fan switch is in the center console next to the e-brake. Early models it ran east and west, late models north and south.

There's a center console insert they may not cut out for the fan switch. I'll lift it up tomorrow and see.

be clear, it is the long console over the shifter and the e-brake. I have never seen a console without the hole, OEM or otherwise. It will be a rectangular hole about 1/2 x 1"

I found a switch beneath the center console insert they did not cut it I hole for it, and it works, I thought I saw somewhere it was a two speed this switch is not. Next will be the turn signal dash indicator problem finding the ground as mentioned above.
