I need your help - I was lucky enough to find a original '66 or '67 steering wheel (chrome spokes) and did restore it during the last weeks (it had several cracks as it did run in africa) - and did put it on my '79 yesterday.
Driving is great, look is fantastic and classy but: I cannot get the horn i.e. horn button to work.
Has anybody got me a simple explanation how to fit the button/spring/ring (these are all parts that I've got) - or a picture (explosion view) how to assemble it rightish?
ciao,
Stefan

Re: Old style steering wheel...
ok, found the design problem/difference myself.... the old style wheels have the indicator return device in the hub, the new ones in the steering/switch assembly - therefore I'm missing ~5mm clearance - so I did bow the contacts a bit... now it works! Look:

Stefan,
I just can't understand why you would want to put that piece of crap on a nice car like yours. When you come to your senses and remove it, I would be willing to put up with it on my car.
