I have been working on my lights as most of them don't work. I pretty much have the rear tail lights all cleaned up and ready to go back on. The headlights are also working. Just need to finish the turn signals. I decided to replace the fuses as most are the original and there looked to be some that have been replaced. I found that all are 8 amps from 1-9 and the 10th is a 16 amps. This is the opposite as to what I read in the manual. Can someone verify the correct replacement order.
I also noted some wires hanging loose and not connected. There is a black wire with 2 connectors. A yellow/black wire. A red and purple wire. And a white wire. Which wires connects to each other and what are they for?
A comment on a previous thread regarding greasing the fuses. While taking the lights apart I found some of the electrical connections and light bulbs had been greased by the PO. The connections come apart more easily and the bulbs intact and some working. The none greased connections and bulb need lots of persuasion and none on the bulbs survived as they were badly corroded. The fuse box was not greased and looks vey clean. I will buff it up and leave ungreased.

Re: wire connection questions
Also depends on the year, some early ones only had one 16A (horn and radiator fan, I think), all others were 8A. The fusebox in the pic is pre-Spider 2000, as it only has 10 fuses. Spider 2000s have 12 fuses in the fusebox, and some in separate holders.
If you post what year your Spider is someone might have the relevant page from the owners manual.

Re: wire connection questions
Thanks Jay and Csaba. I found my answer to the fuse question in the wiring diagram for the 73 spider regarding were does the 16a fuse go. When I look at the fuse box I assumed the fuse numbers ran left to right. The numbers run right to left with the number 1 or A fuse on the right end of the fuse box. So this is were the 16a fuse goes and the rest are 8a.
Tip: When you see the letters S or D stamped on a part they are the English equivilent of L or R. Italian for Left is Sinistral and Right is Destra. I am sure this has been posted somewhere else on this form.
Regarding the year of my Spider I think mechanically and most of the wiring is 73. My confusion is a lot of the exterior looks like a 75. Does anyone know if the wiring is differrent in these 2 years as I can't find a 75 wiring diagram to compare?
