Working on the 76 and I noticed the whole center console is not working. Radio, courtesy light, hazard switch, and cigarette lighter are all out. The fuses look fine, I haven't switched them out just did a visual. Is there anything else I should look for or am I missing something?

Re: Center console out
Have you checked the inline fuses?
Re: Center console out
That's the line fuse that is right by the fuse panel, or is it behind the console? I will look at the one by the panel, 16amp I think.
Re: Center console out
So the fuse is a 16amp and is good. The inline fuse holder has a black line on one side and a red and violet on the other side. I used a test light and when the key is on or car running in don't have any voltage to either side of the inline fuse holder.
So it seems like I don't have any power making it to the inline fuse holder

Re: Center console out
Have you got your multimeter out and gone tracing?
I'm waiting for some literal paint to dry, so quickly dipped into the wiring diagram...
My '76 is a little "non-traditional", but looking at Brad's diagram, Fuses I&L seem to be the issue??

Even though the fuses look fine... take them out, clean them make sure they're making good contact within the fuse box.

Re: Center console out
Oh yeah my clock is out also. So I created a jumper to the black wire going into the inline fuse. I give it 12v going into the fuse and all is working fine. I just need to know where the end of the black line goes to get the power. I think it should be hooked into fuse one since it always needs power to run the clock.
Appreciate the help, keep it coming

Re: Center console out
Got it fixed. The wire supplying power from the fuse box came out
Thanks for the help

Re: Center console out
Mine right now appears to be getting its ground connection for the center console from the courtesy lamp retaining clips. If I remove the courtesy lamp assembly then the lighter socket looses its ground source and won't run my GPS and such. Right now the radio is out and I have not dove into the spider web that was left behind when someone else pulled it. The courtesy lamp and lighter socket are deteriorating and need replacing also.
