Post by LucN »

Hi,

since a few days , i'm trying to figure out how the tachometer is correctly connected.
where does the tachometer get his pulse, from the ignition coil, distributor,.... ?
can someone help me out?

Thx

thanks,

since it's wired to the coil, probably the tachometer is dead....
any idea how to test it before a buy a new one?

Check for power at the tachometer and continuity for the wire that goes to the negative side of the coil.
If everything is OK it's dead.
And I have a good one if you need it.

I had a tach issue that was non responding 90% of the time. It took until the following year to discover that a loose ground cable on the battery terminal was the culprit.
