little black box in trunk?

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but what is the little black box for in the trunk of my 77 Spider.

Its located on the drivers side and mounted to the back wall of the trunk

try sliding (lifting) the box straight up to remove the (was clear) light cover

Seemed like the next day Fiat pulled the plug on the US.

SNL didn't cause the downfall of (the original) FIAT in the USA. FIAT caused it, by making things like the Strada and the 128 and allowing Chrysler dealers to service them on their backlots.

Hi guys,

No it's nt the battery nor the light. My car is currently in storage in an aunts garage but I will snap a pic as soon as i can.

Its a rectangular black box with a few very thin wires coming our of it, (2 if I remember correctly)

It may have been something left over from when my car had an alarm installed by a previous owner.

I did a quick google and couldnt come up with any Fiat Spider trunk with the same little box.

I will upload a pic as soon as I can

Are the wires attached to the battery?

My car has a trickle charger that I can plug in over the winter to keep the battery charged.
