Glad to be on board! have been more of a motorcycle restoration guy but when an aging friends gives you their toy to save, its hard to say no, so now I am the proud owner of a red 1980 124 Spider.....let the fun begin!
First questions.....where the heck is the fuel pump???

Under the car, on the left hand side just ahead of the left rear wheel. The fuel pump and fuel filter within a few inches of one another protected by a couple of sheet metal shields. Why do you ask?

I know this is not the place but due to the questions posted after my hello, I shall be brief and get my tech questions to the proper area from here on.

Car turns over great, but no bang, take off the fuel line just before the rail and no squirt. I know it can be a relay or other goblins but that was my start point. Car came with an ancient manuel and it said fuel pump was in the trunk? nothing but a golf ball, spare tire and a sock.

So working outside in a Canadian winter the last thing I wanted to do was crawl under a small Italian with me being 6-2 230lbs an 8 inch gap was not where I was going, at least not right away.

Regardless, the welcoming comments are great.....and man there is a ton of helpful people here.
I shall relocate to the proper forum are.

Sounds like you have everything you need

just take the golfball and put it in the sock

then light the tire on fire

then beat the tire like it owes you money

problem solved

I carry spares in all my cars just in case

Need to know year to help with the fuel pump, sounds like it is not running. Solution depends upon whether FI or Carbed.
