brown wire fix
I took an 80 Spider apart for parts. When I removed the battery cable with the brown wire I found that the brown wire does not go to the ignition switch like I thought it did, but instead goes to the double relay for the fuel injection without any connectors or fuses in between. The brown wire at the ignition switch comes from the starter post. I know I could have found this out by studying my wiring diagrams, but I did not. Just something of interest for those working on FI Spiders,

Re: brown wire fix
Electrical wire diagrams and schematics show primarily how something is connected electrically and not necessarily where the physical locations are.
Having said that the "Spider 2000 Electrical Diagnostic Manual 19880-1981" Does a pretty good job of showing connection locations in its diagrams. This manual is available on line at more than one site. Also most of our vendors sell the manual.
Here is a link for the manual http://www.fiatspiderron.nl/fiat-spider ... -1981.html
Second page in second row shows brown wife form battery goes to fuel injection. That page and the following page show brown wire from starter going to ignition switch.
