Wiring for Connector to hazard switch

Post by bgrisi »

I have a 1979 spider and the PO of my car did a lot of creative wiring in the process of restoration which has left me discovering things that are wired wrong and having to put it back the way it should be. Currently, I am trying to troubleshoot the hazard switch which allows the turn signal indicator to work while the headlights are off, but when on, the turn signals flash, but the dashboard indicator doesn't light up. Also, when the brake is depressed, the red button on the hazard switch lights when the brakes are pressed and the lights are on. I started by cleaning up the ground stars and have now gone to the hazard switch since I have seen so much written here about them failing. Because of the uncertainty of the proper wiring of the harness, I am wondering if anyone has a photo of the color of the wires as they go into the plug that fastens to the back of the hazard switch which has 6 terminals in a circle and a center terminal which I know is a ground. I have the wiring diagram for the switch, but it shows the connections in a straight row which doesn't seem to make sense with what I see connecting to my terminals. I would appreciate any help you can offer.

This post may have links to photos of what you need plus a run down of where each wire leads to.
