Glad to be here!
Bought a 1981 Fiat recently. Always thought I would want this car once I retired, but then I reconsidered and said, "why wait?". Love driving it, my 14 year old son has already called dibs on the car, and when it runs, it is a joy. It does have phantom problems with stalling though. Does anyone know a great mechanic in south Orange County, CA?

Re: Glad to be here!
Welcome aboard to the best forum for Fiat Spiders anywhere! Spiders are relatively simple cars to work on. A lot of folks here that with a good manual and some decent tools you can get a lot done yourself. If space or some other constraint doesn't allow you to work on your Spider give a shout out to Allison's Automotive (forum moderator) - they are in Upland, CA. If you can't get to them they may be able to recommend someone closer to you.

I would try checking the main ground at the battery.
cleaning all connections at the coil,be sure they are snug
hope this helps.joe
