So the fun begins. Jupiter Florida 1983

I had 2 spiders in my twenties , now in my fifties and bought a 1983, It looked great, not pristine but a nice looking car until the paint started bubbling and revealed a crappy resto job. Being the great dad that I am I gave it to my 18 year old son who is now busy to restore it. He disassembled it and currently is in the body shop to have all rust removed and repainted.
So here we are, we did a compression test on the engine and found one low cylinder, with the engine dissasembled it is time to purchase new bearings etc. i have done one of these motors before but is totally out of the loop what to check for and tolleraences etc.
So the first question is do we have a online engine manual to look up torque values , where to look for markings, and how to tell what size rings, main bearings, rod bearings etc to buy and what to look out for. It will be a great experience for him and what better place to do it than here on this forum.
I will give it over to him and he can ask questions and have fun with his project.
