Steering Wheel Question
I have been looking at steering wheels online and notice that there are "Momo" wheels that have the 6-screw pattern with 1 of the screws centered at the top of the hub, and there are some that have the screws at 11:00 and 1:00. (i.e. 30 degrees rotated). What gives with this? "Momo" appears to refer to both a company and a "standard". But is there an actual specific standard # that we would refer to in adding a custom wheel to our cars? My 80 Spider 2000 has the screw at the top dead center of the hub.

Re: Steering Wheel Question
The Momo standard has a bolt a 12 o'clock. The Nardi/Personal wheels have bolts at 11 and 1 o'clock.
My guess is that the "Momo" wheels that have bolts at 11 and 1 o'clock are fakes.

Re: Steering Wheel Question
MOMO pattern refers to the diameter of the ring of bolt holes. Any wheel with a MOMO pattern will bolt onto your hub. If it's not clocked correctly merely pull the hub and center it. Wheels that advertise a MOMO pattern aren't fakes passing themselves off as MOMO wheels, only that they use that standard of attachment

Re: Steering Wheel Question
There are adapter rings 1/2'' thick for adapting a Momo boss to a Nardi wheel.

Re: Steering Wheel Question
I like the look of those classic wooden rim Nardi's, but I think my big hands need a beefier wheel, with finger contours, to steer with. My stock wheel is 15" OAW, with a cover, and my knees keep hitting it. pita. I would like to go to a 13" and thereby take an inch off of each side. that would do it. It gotsta look good though.

Re: Fiona's Momo steering wheel: Having seen an earlier picture you posted, I simply had to have that wheel and late last year found one on eBay - in Malaysia, I think it was. It came with a Momo horn button, but as I had removed from the four wheels the "3D" Fiat decals that the PO stuck on, I repurposed one of the decals by slathering on some Goop and sticking it on top of the Momo button. (The horn button from the stock wheel did not fit.) The decal looks great - and feels great, because those 3D stickers have a little "give". And I really love the wheel's solid spokes with the teardrop "blobs".
That NRG wheel with the satin spokes that Mark has is really nice, too, and would have been my second choice had I not located this vintage Momo.
Just wanted to post this as a reminder that imitation is the sincerest form of envy.

Re: Steering Wheel Question
Actually, the photo is from Jay's car. I still haven't figured out how to post pictures. (I know, I know, I've seen the instructions.) My car from that perspective now looks pretty much the same as Jay's except for my absolutely crystal-clear clock glass.
