That's the one I saw this evening. they abandoned the Lotus, Porsche and Mustang and were pelted with rocks as they split to Chile.
Or as I put it "stoned"

BBCCanada...a little later in airing than others I guess!
Probably won't get to see the Spider episode for a while here. :(

It's apparent that their assault really was not staged. The authorities were alerted to to a "fake" license plate (H982FLK) on the Porsche which was symbolic to Argentina's loss of the war in 1982. (The plate was just a bad, ugly coincidence) Apparently the British are not forgiven nor forgotten. The show was concluded with the behind the scenes crew of 31 people and vehicles now being part of the show in their daring escape out of the country. I know this is old news for some of you, but this episode has just been aired in Canada.
31 crew, that explains the heroic repairs in the desert, they had access to a repair team and truckloads of car parts at their disposal

Yep - without dragging us through the rights and wrongs, it seems nationalism bubbled over due to the unfortunate license plate. For once, there seems to be little other provocation .... Now who remembers the one with the drive through the Deep South...?

Fortunately BBC iPlayer lets you watch these things from afar - and there are ways and means of gaining the UK IP Address to make it work.

Classic.
Possibly somewhat staged, but still very entertaining.

So did the Top Gear episode get filmed before the Clarkson brouhaha?
Sounds like it may have been the Fiat Spider episode that brought the show down...

All the filming had been completed, just the studio recording required.
There is a possibility that a complation programe which will show footage which has not been broadcasted but as seen in the press recently, no actual decisions yet made and the future of the show need s to be sorted.
