Hi All - new to Fiat and new to this forum so this is my first post.
Name is Ed and I bought a 1969 Fiat 124 Sport Coupe. I also own a 1969 911 Porsche and a 1965 Mercedes 190C so the Fiat is my first Italian car. However its not my first experience with this brand, my parents owned two italian cars when I was growing up which was a 70s Lancia 2000 sedan and a Fiat 124 BC sport coupe. They later owned German car such as Porsche, Mercedes, and VW.
I bought the Fiat from a friend for cheap as he didn't have time to work on it anymore plus it was parked outdoors and the elements were getting to it. The car drives and shifts fine but the front and rear brakes both needed an overhaul - rear calipers were seized and flex hoses have collapsed.
Anyway I look forward to learning more about my fiat and gaining guidance from you all.
Thanks - Ed
Greetings from San Francisco

Welcome aboard! You will find plenty of knowledgeable and friendly people here.
Here is a thread on how to post pictures directly to the forum:

And here is another picture-posting thread:

This short instruction covers how to resize pictures so that they don’t get cut off at the right side:
Pictures can be easily and quickly resized using Windows.
You do not need to open the image file, therefore no image viewing software is needed.
1. First find where the image is stored on your computer.
2. Click on the image file to high light it.
3. Right click, then select "EDIT"
4. Click "RESIZE" in the upper left corner of the screen
5. Click on "PIXELS"
6. Make sure that "MAINTAIN ASPECT RATIO" is checked.
7. Retype "725" in "Horizontal" field.
8. Click "OK"
9. Save image, if desired. I put them in parallel folders with “resized” somewhere in the description..
It will now be resized and will show fully and properly on the forum, using standard Windows software.
And here is a link to a map of Spider owner’s locations. Many forum members have listed their locations.

Hi Ed, welcome!
If the brakes are your biggest concern, you are starting off better than most of us
I have 3 vendors that I highly recommend. AutoRicambi ( a sponsor); Midwest Bayless; and Kenny at Auto Italia ( a local recycler up in Cotati).
I am in San Rafael. I once had a '71 Coupe. Now, just about finished with an '80 Spider. I offer any assistance you may need ( my wife has already told me " no more projects!").

Re: Greetings from San Francisco
Welcome to the forum. My first car was a 1969 124 Sport Coupe in Positano yellow. I lived in a house just off Market Street at 16th and Castro. I sold the car when I moved in 1974. Wish I still had it.
I look forward to seeing pictures.
