Post by EdderSpisder »

Hi all.
I have an issue to plug the fiber optic cable in my 74'. I know that i failed due i did not take a picture before to un assemble this cable. Would you please take or paste a picture of the socket area where in the dashboard is plugged the single port? I remember something to have connected ther other side for the 4 ports. Please help

Since mine was disconnected, I'm bringing up an old thread. Anyone? I do see a port close to the ignition switch under dash. Is this it?

It is under the dash near the ignition switch. It is horizontal - don't confuse it with the "inspection light plug" that looks like a banana plug socket. The one for the fiber optics will have a lamp or socket for a common FIAT type lamp. The lamp goes in one side, the fiber optics out the other.

I'll be one to say I wouldn't spend a tremendous effort on the fiber optics and expect them to give great output. They never worked very well, and the only way I've managed to get them bright is by using a superbright LED that I heat-shrunk against the wires. You can't do this with regular bulbs, they get too hot. But it did illuminate the little indicators nicely.

Thanks. Mine has no bulb. I also thought an LED would work better.
