1979 SPIDER WIRING SCHEMATIC

Post by riddley57 »

Dealing with some wiring issues. Turns out my 78 is frankenstiened with a lot of 79 stuff. I'm going to order a 79 shop manual, but at the moment I am up to my elbows inside and under the dash chasing a cooked wire or two. I've searched on line and can't find a complete-one-page wiring schematic for 79. I downloaded the artigue.com multi-page one that groups similar systems together on single pages. Due to my spider's mixed year heritage, this is frustrating as what is on the page rarely matches what is in my car. Would help tremendously to be able to see everything laid out together. This car is, and has been my daily driver since 2000, so time is of the essence. Thanks for your attention.

I've never seen one, the only ones I've seen are for the early Spiders.

78 and 79 diagrams were not "all in one" but component areas were grouped into pages:

78: http://www.artigue.com/fiatcontent/Wiring_1978.pdf
79: http://www.artigue.com/fiatcontent/Wiring_1979_1980.pdf

You have one of the weirder model years if you have an early 79 or late 78, typically it is the components after the final run of wire that are different (e.g. the car will have a basic 78 wiring trunk then a 79 component branch plugged into it). Makes the colors hard to follow though the wiring is basically the same, point-to-point.
