where can I purchase an "American" socket for my 81 Spider?

not sure what you mean by "american". I never had an issues with assessories plugging in to the fiat. Anyhow, any auto parts house carry a variety of lighters or aux sockets. I bought one and put it in the back seat where i could power my laptop.
