My turn signals work but the indicator in the dashboard just gives a single fluttering flash when signals are activated,. its the same for both sides,. any suggestions of where to locate the problem. ?

make sure your turn signal bulbs are good. clean the bulb sockets, and check their grounds. clean the connections to the bulbs, specifically the grounds.

The signals works fine, its only the indicator in the dashboard that fails

Check the ground for the instrument panel
