With the exception of the hazard flasher all the other electrical circuits work fine (headlights, side markers. turn signals, brake light, horn, radiator fan) on my 1975. I have traced all connectors as best as I can and sorted out most of the PO's creative wiring.
What is happening is that when I switch on the hazard my courtesy light pluses (I can hear the relay) and the dash hazard light pulses but in "reverse" -- meaning that when the hazard light pluses ON the courtesy light pluses OFF -- back and forth. However the side markers don't flash. Also the courtesy light will not turn off with the doors closed so I have to manually switch it off.
Any suggestions of where I should look to sort this out?

Re: Hazard Flasher and Courtesy Light
I think you have more than one problem.
The courtesy light might be wired wrong. It has 3 terminals I would try swapping the wires to see it will work correctly. This might also be why it flashes when the hazards are on.
The hazard lights are the same light bulbs as your signal lights. So if the signal lights work correctly chances are the bulbs are good. I believe the light in the hazard switch lights when the hazard bulb is unlit they alternate.

Re: Hazard Flasher and Courtesy Light
pulsing in the courtesy light indicated that the hazard is trying to ground through the courtesy light. As mentioned, try switching the 2 close wires in the courtesy light.

Re: Hazard Flasher and Courtesy Light
Today I discovered at least one loose connection in the wiring. I also note that the hazard pluses at half the rate of the turn signals. More tracing of wiring is in order. The hazard still doesn't flash the 4 side markers. Moving the connections on the courtesy light seems only to work in one combination. White/Black (2 wires) on the driver's side terminal. Blue/Violet on the middle terminal and B+ (red) on the terminal on the passenger side.

I don't believe the Hazards or the signal lights flash the side markers. Some of us modify the wiring so they will flash but they were not delivered from the factory that way. I believe your car has a signal flasher and a hazard flasher. If that is the case the hazard flasher is a square box mounted behind the instrument panel to the firewall.

I do have the square box on the firewall. I have modified the wiring so that the side markers flash with the signal markers. That worked until my present problem.spider2081 wrote:I don't believe the Hazards or the signal lights flash the side markers.
