Simple question......Can head bolts be re-used?

yes. as long as they haven't stretched or been otherwise damaged

even though they seem a bit pricey.... is it better to redo all that work, or pay the price for new head bolts?

your money...your time. which can you part with easier?

I guess it's a good idea, having spent rather alot on a new bottom end, another few pounds wont hurt!
