Update, fuel injection issues in my 81 spider

Post by carlospena96 »

Well, I keep searching to fix the injection of my 81 spider, I do all the recomendations of people here in the forum, I check all sensors, change oxygen sensor, new spark plugs and spark wires, injectors 2 checked and 2 new, check ecu and it's fine, check the ground cable in the manifold, check the afm and it works.
I don't know if I miss something, If I do, let me know here in the comments
I don't know of the afm have a bad adjustment, some ground cable I miss, or the cables of some sensor are break.

I will apreciate any idea of my problems and will be very thankfully

Well, what's wrong with it? Very difficult to help if you don't say what its doing.

First, my car started jumping up, when I put a gear and try to accelerate with the gear, and sounds like the engine was in 3 cyl, but the idle was ok and when i put in neutral and accelerate it was ok.
Then, my car start, but 5 seconds it dies, disconect the cold start injector and it don't start at all, check all sensors, injectors and put a new oxygen sensor and new spark plugs but nothing.

Sounds like the engine is starting on the cold start valve and there is no fuel coming from the 4 fuel injectors. Have you measured voltage on the fuel injector 2 pin connectors?? I think we first need to know if you have voltage on one of the pins for each fuel injector.

If for some reason the injectors connectors are bad, what is the reason of the issue?

Because I use a light probe (tester) and both pins give me voltage, but for some reason it don't give me the injector pulse

The ground switches in the computer to pulse the injector. One of the injector pins has power from the fuel injection relay. The other pin is connected to the fuel injection computer and has voltage on it most of the time. For short periods of time the compute switched that pin to ground to energize the injector and it allows fuel into the manifold. If you disconnect the connector from the fuel injector computer voltage on one of the pins should go away. So far it sounds like you injectors are not being told to release fuel. They all release fuel at the same time and that command comes from the computer. The ground is present for such a short period of time I don't think putting a test light between the injector plug pins will flash the light. You need a special tool called a node light
