reostat

Post by kevsem65 »

I have no instrument lights and i read about this reostat jumper fix but how do I get the reostat out ? Is it just the chrome ring around the knob? Then what?

the chrome ring is what holds it in place. when it is removed, you can push it out of the hole to the back of the dash. then you need to figure out how to get it out from there. because of its location, you may need to remove the upper console, instrument cluster or glove box.

You just remove the 2 wires and connect them together. no you have no rheostat and no adjustment. put the old one back so you dont have an ugly hole in your dash.

The reostat has an internal fuse. If the fuse is blown something caused it. I would use an inline 2 amp fuse to jump the wires together to be safe.
