First Fiat

Post by boydsdodge »

Hello, I just purchased a 1980 Fiat 2000 that had been left sitting for a few years.
I felt bad for it so I brought it home to see if I can get it going again.
Previous owner has told me that it had a lot of work done at Andy's Spiders here in Toronto, it has aftermarket bucket seats, dual carbs, but he is not really sure what has been done, thinks it was hoped up some, does not look too rusty at first look, a bit in the lower forward doors, and a bit that I can see at the left fender mounting flange few inches from fire wall.
I am used to unibody cars from working on old Mopars from the 50s to 80s mostly the muscle cars from 66 to 74.
I really enjoy making cars first handle and stop then more power.
So lets see if I can use some of my motorhead skills to get this little guy going in the right direction.
It needs a lot of repairs from sitting but we will see how bad it is when I get back to my shop.

If you do a search you find instructions on how to post pics. The pics have to be uploaded to a hosting site like Photbucket or Flickr first.
