1982 fiat 124 wiring question

Does 1982 fiat 124 share the same woes as earlier model 124 such as headlight current draw going thru ignition switch as well as the headlight switch? Or, was the later 1982 124 upgraded, modified or whatever so the relay kits are not necessary? I have just purchased 1982 model and don't really know how to check to determine this. Thanks to all you experts out there.

The !982 Spider headlight current passes through the ignition switch, hi/lo column switch and the dash headlight on/off switch.
The headlight relay mod is a good thing to install in your car.

Nope. The 82 works pretty much like the 68.
