Headlights went out

Post by Fiatracertracer »

Low beams have been working fine until last night, high beams haven't worked since i purchased the spider.

Last night after a long drive I stopped and shut the car off, when I returned i started the car but no head lights....the marker lights and tail lights worked but no headlights.

Can anyone help me locate the problem?

Thanks in advance.

Check the fuses.

The primary headlight switch is on the dashboard, it has three positions - off, headlights on, and parking lamps on. The secondary headlight switch, so to speak, is the bright light selector on the steering column. If you pull it towards you the light should flash. If you put it up it is in "normal" mode; down it is in "bright" mode.

If none of this is working you need to at least start by diagnosing the main switch. If the brights never worked I'd think that you need to test the stalk switches first. But one at a time.

If you need wiring diagrams get them at my website, http://www.artigue.com/fiat

Fixed.

It was a loose connection under the steering wheel. Thanks Brad, your electrical schematics led me there.

Reconnecting that loose connection also fixed the high beam problem.
