Fellas!
Lance here. New to cars, new to Fiat Spiders. Looking to buy my first classic (and learn to work on it). I'm currently researching the purchase of a 73-82 Fiat 124 Sport Spider. Got my eye on a red 78 beauty currently. I've been lurking these forums for a few weeks now. You guys have put together some damn fine resources! Best I've found on the web so far. It's been a pleasure seeing how helpful and receptive this community is to all of the requests for help you guys have had. It's been eye opening to read about all of the issues Spiders of this period can have. Of course I'm looking to purchase the best condition car I possibly can, but I kind of like the idea of tinkering on the car from time to time. Everything this community has accumulated gives me a lot of confidence that I can do that. Any words of wisdom you can pass my way are much appreciated.

Hi Lance,
It's all about the rust.
Take your time there are plenty out there, and one of them somewhere has your name on it. As a matter of fact there are more cars than buyers. I wish they were worth more but they just aren't. That said though paying more for a good one rather than less for a mediocre one is money well spent.
Good luck and let us know.

Re: new guy
Even the cars in very good condition will need tinkering, no worries about that
