Gauge problems

Post by Archdukeferdinand »

Hi, i have been replacing my old butchered wiring harness with a basic 12 circuit Painless one. does anyone know how the gauges work and how much voltage to supply them with to get them to read accurately? Thanks!

The Manual on this link does a great job explaining how the gauges work. The gauge operation is similar for all Spiders. I think there is an error in the manual on the fuel gauge test. The fuel gauge should peg beyond full if the gauge wire is grounded and less than empty is the wire is removed from the sender.

Hope this helps

That is a very good write-up. I never spend the time to write stuff up like that and then struggle to remember.

I read a bit of that write up, thought I add that you shouldn't cut the door chime pink and white wire from the ignition switch, I have used this switch to power my radio so I can listen to music without the ignition being on. Kind of like the ACC switch most cars have.
