Car Night at Merkel's

Post by rlux4 »

Had another fun night a t Merkel Weiss' place. A lot of people showed up and there were some awesome cars to ogle. The torch got passed to Rudy by Ace in Jim's (500 owner) stead prior to Rudy driving the 500 on it's first leg back to the east coast to get shipped back to Ireland where Jim is already home. The '65 Alfa Romeo Voloce had a nice hood insulation job done. It looked like it is a very well made home job. I don't know the material but it feels heat resistant for those of you who have posted questions about what would be a good under hood material.

My car ran smooth as silk for the ride. To get up to the high desert as our area is called there is a 2000 foot rise in elevation and it did the climb great.

The only garage accessory us Mid-Westerners need is a good heater!

yeah, my window treatment consists of 1" thick pink panels of styrofoam insulation. Keeps the annoying summer sun out both days of the year, and provides mild easment of the drifting snow the rest of the year.

He's on his own with the pink decor! I have brown metal mini-blinds in my garage. Not sure what color they were when installed, though.

pink or blue, what would you have chosen, given that it was 10° below zero F, and the lumberyard was out of blue?

and, i lied. i actually take it down to let in the sun on those two days.
