Bill in Portland OR 1972 BC coupe

Post by brotherbill »

Hello Folks,

I recently bought Chad's blue BC coupe project and will begin posting to that exist string as I take the next steps in restoring the car.
I've rebuilt/worked on Triumphs, Volvos, VWs, and Fords but this is my first Fiat/Italian car. I noticed that the bodies of most of my northern European cars were designed by Italians so i decide to take the plunge. I'll say thanks in advance for the advice I'll receive on this forum and offer mine when potentially worthwhile. BTW Chad is not out of the picture. He works periodically in Portland so we will stay in contact and I already promised to loan him the car for a weekend when it's running (hopefully by next summer) and he has said he'd help walk me through placing the less identifiable parts from a car I did not disassemble as I bolt it back together.

If there are Fiat fans in PDX who like to get together and work on cars feel free to contact me. 503-708-0224
Oh yeah - single plane manifold. Anyone in PDX have one they want to sell?

Looking forward to this; we need more Coupes here  . Didn't Chad clean up the motor a bit and give it a very pleasing repaint (the motor, that is)? I thought it looked quite nice.

Hi Bill, I am soooo glad the blue coupe stayed in town! I recorded my number and will call you next year to meet. I drive around pdx in a bright green 128 wagon and a cream 71 spider. Looking forward to meeting you.

Welcome indeed. I am slowly getting my car back to operational status (had to pull the head again to verify that I don't have a crack). Then all that is left is to dial in my new HPMX twin carbs. Looking forward to getting up to Portland this coming year so I can link up with the PDX gang.
