I am lucky enough to live in a area that sport bikes and sports cars use as a destination. Many car and bike clubs spend their weekends here just to test their stuff on these steep mountain roads.I took a long 75 mile loop thru the gnarliest(that word is for you Cal guys),twistiest roads in this area. The car ran flawlessly, normal temps ,little brake fade, and great grip. These cars are an absolute joy to drive. They may have little issues and idiosyncrasies ,but they are far outweighed by the ear to ear smile they produce!! You wonder if the people in the econoboxes and minivans(as you fly around them!),realize how much fun driving can be!

Re: Joy of driving
I share your joy. Lots of great roads around here. After years of riding around in other vehicles, I can't believe how good it feels to throw a spider around the curves again. I used to have a high performance sports car that would do 0-60 in 4.5 seconds and pull .95 on a skid pad. It was no where near as much fun to drive as the spider. I could never get it out of second gear around town. With the 124, I can feel like I am shifting my way through a road rally ...even if I'm just going to the golf course.
Last night, I was driving home from the convenience store behind a highly-tuned muscle car. My straight pipe single muffler can be quite loud when necessary. I poured the cobs to it and let out quite a growl, surprisingly burning a little rubber. The muscle car immediately put the pedal to the metal and the last I saw of him was as the police cruiser pulled in behind him . I was making a leisurely turn into my neighborhood at the time . Didn't mean to get him into trouble , but have to admit that a 56 year old man in a 37 year old car causing that much excitement did give me a brief moment of unrepentant pleasure .
Rev'em high and turn'em hard

That was a good story! Funny. Silly muscle cars... I feel the same way about my car. Our roads aren't great for driving it, theyre okay, country roads, some are windy, some arent. Its still just so much fun though. I'll take any excuse I can to go do extra work and go out of my way if it means I get to drive my Spider there!
